MAKING VISIBLE WHAT IS FELT, BUT NOT ALWAYS SEEN

Shagun is a Multidisciplinary Visual Artist and Psychologist from India working across painting, sculpture, textile and installation. Her practice explores states of transformation: how internal experiences emerge through form, material, the body, and light.

Moving between biomorphic forms, layered surfaces and moments of luminosity, her work gives physical presence to experiences that resist fixed narratives.

THE PRACTICE

BETWEEN THE MATERIAL AND THE IMMATERIAL

Shagun’s practice begins with experiences that arrive as sensations, tensions, shifts, colours and flashes of recognition.
She creates somatic and perceptual propositions. Works that simultaneously ask, and answer questions around change and lived experience.

The body appears as a mutating, living archive while also moving towards luminosity, perception and inner landscapes, asking how something intangible might acquire physical presence.

"I love the colour juxtapositions Shagun uses, so eye-catching, raw, and not conventionally beautiful but appealing in its own way. Something I just had to have."

Rajesh K. — Collector, Mumbai

"Her work is way beyond her years. What I love is that it’s a conversation-starter for anyone who sees it, and I can always get lost in the work."
